Dahal proposes work division of CPN Maoist Centre leaders

CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday proposed work division of its leaders at the newly unified party’s first Central Committee (CC) meeting in Kathmandu.

The CC meeting would resume at 1 pm tomorrow and would finalise the work division of the CC members on Monday itself, according to Dahal’s secretariat

Meanwhile, Dahal also presented a political report at the CC today, describing likely effects of the Maoist unity on the contemporary issues of national and global politics.

The meeting started at 3 pm and lasted for two hours.

On May 19, as many as 10 parties and groups following Maoist ideologies — including Dahal-led UCPN-Maoist, Ram Bahadur Thapa-led CPN-Revolutionary Maoist, Mani Thapa-led Revolutionary Communist Party and Matrika Yadav-led CPN (Maoist) — had merged to form the new party under the leadership of Dahal.

Other office bearers of the new party, however, are yet to be named.
